TriNav Fisheries - Assistant Fisheries Consultant
PhD Student, Fisheries and Marine Institute
Maggie is currently pursuing a research-based PhD degree under the supervision of Dr. Scott Grant. She has spent several field seasons in the Arctic, collecting scientific data in inner Frobisher Bay (Iqaluit) and Hudson Strait (Kimmirut). Her thesis focuses on the distribution and abundance of benthic organisms. Using a towed camera sled, Maggie is working toward identifying habitat preferences of several species of interest to local community members.
Maggie is also currently employed by TriNav Fisheries (Dartmouth) where she works as an Assistant Fisheries Consultant. She works closely with harvesters and indigenous groups on feasibility studies, license appraisals, and business planning.
